Talks between Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Department of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, and Mexican President Andres Manuel López included amnesty as a way to relieve the immigration crisis.

The joint press release has all the correct buzzwords and phrases, such as “root causes,” “poverty, inequality and violence,” “diplomatic,” and “humanely.”

Then amnesty appears towards the bottom.

“The delegations also discussed the benefits of regularizing the situation of Hispanic migrants who have been undocumented for several years and the DACA [Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals] beneficiaries, who are a vital part of the US economy and society,” according to the joint press release.

DACA came to be in 2012 under former President Barack Obama and then-VP Biden.

Biden wanted to “finalize a rule to codify” DACA, making it a federal regulation.
