The Hastings Environmental Law Review chose to close out 2023 with an article Will The Real Eco-Terrorist Please Stand Up?, by Zoe Gallagher that speaks volumes about high education. The UC Law department at the University of California, San Francisco is currently working to expand its carbon-footprint with a new Academic Village, which provides a unique opportunity to contrast government lawyers philosophies on the issue of property rights. Apparently, students in California universities are no longer taught that for justice to be equal, there must be an equal application of the law. Even if that requires allowing free speech rights to people identified as political enemies, which happen to disagree with the policies supported by student activists on collage campuses.
In defense of violent environmentalism, Gallagher portrays the late Ron Arnold, founder of the Wise Use Movement as a radical property rights advocate. Who she holds responsible for coining the phrase “eco-terrorism”, as part of his self-proclaimed goal for “destroy[ing] environmentalist by taking their money and members”. Gallagher’s diatribe goes on to suggest the FBI’s Operation Backfire was created as a “Green Scare” campaign, geared to wipe out the so-called eco-terrorist groups. To illustrate the illogical treatment of radical environmentalist, she points out how members of the Earth Liberation Front (ELF) had received enhanced prison sentences for ‘direct action’ campaigns of vandalism and arson between 1995 and 2001. Totaling ignoring that those violent direct action campaigns were an assault on individual property rights, and provided no ecological benefit at all.
Its important to recognize that there are profound differences of opinion regarding the subject of property rights, but some believe that only one side should get to define both the financial and moral motivations of their political opposition. This has become an especially critical problem, because it now involves political issues directly related to government-run business ventures.
Ron Arnold was a former Sierra Club member, that also considered himself to be a very strong conservationist. He believed that environmental groups had exaggerated, or even invented perceived environmental threats to advance a narrow-minded political agenda. Zoe Gallagher’s legal theories concerning Eco-Terrorism, demonstrates a total lack of awareness concerning those civil rights.
When Arnold wrote ‘Eco Terror: The Violet Agenda to Save Nature- The World of the Unabomber’ in 1997, he cast serious doubts on the dubious claims that Theodore Kaczynski had acted as an isolated individual. He correctly pointed out how members of Earth First!, had produced a “Eco-F*cker Hit List” targeting a hundred organizations that had supported the wise use movement. He had also demonstrated the many similarities between the bizarre Manifesto written by Kaczynski, with the book Confessions of an EcoWarrior produced by the Earth First! Co-founder Dave Foreman.
The vast majority of victims from the self-appointed warriors of Eco-Terrorism, were engaged in real estate ventures. Not oil, natural-gas or coal.
Those projects were probably not on the same scale as the California’s Bullet Train to nowhere, or the new Academic Village to provide affordable housing for students from six local colleges, using tax-exempt bonds to be repaid by revenue from their projects. The violent actions of the Unabomber killed two university employees, and had nothing whatsoever to do with real estate, or education. Which may explain the confusion over different legal views on property rights in California, where there appears to be as many variations as campuses within University of California system. With each providing a different interpretation provided by the Diversity, Equality and Idiocy (DEI) Industrial Complex.
One shining example of this legal double-standard is the Berkeley California-China Climate Institute, which has allegedly been operating out of the law office at UC, Berkeley since 2010. Former CA governor Jerry “Moonbeam” Brown chairs this government-owned non-profit that created its own Climate Corps® brand of products as part of a Global Alliance of Universities on Climate as an economic model. His crew of bureaucrat entrepreneurs has teamed up with China’s Institute of Climate Change and Sustainable Development over at Tsinghua University. Which is associated with the another UN initiative called the Partnership for Action on Green Economy (PAGE), that is funded by the European Union, Germany, Finland, Norway, Republic of Korea, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates. The PAGE group is composed of organizations such as UNIDO, International Labour Organizations (ILO), the UN Institute for Training and Research, which serves a similar function to the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy (ACEEE). All of these actors are the very last source that any honest human being should trust for sound business practices, or morality.
Back when Ron Arnold was warning Americans that “public hysteria is going to destroy industrial civilization”, it was from tactics like the Natural Resource Defense Council’s Alar Scare in 1989. That had used a highly-questionable report, which caused over a $100 million in losses for apple growers and destroyed thousands of small US businesses. That was the same year as the Tienanmen Square massacre, when Communist China killed several thousand pro-democracy demonstrators. Many were there to protest environmental issues, related to the massive water-diversion projects that up-rooted millions, destroying thousands of cities, farms, religious sites and ancient cultural heritage sites. Which had been fully supported by Western banksters, industrialist and universities.
Millions were forced at gunpoint to abandon homelands with thousands of years of sustained heritage, which could be classified as the ultimate property rights issue of the 20th century. Modern academics have no problem grossing over that level of carnage, which they consider as little more than a conflict resolution item involving some Anti-State Grievances. Journalist hadn’t concocted their ‘Silence Is Violence’ narrative yet, because corporate media was still applying the ‘Silence Is Golden’ rule to justify the spending on behalf of a Communist dictatorship.
China is the largest manufacturers for the EPA’s premium-priced ENERGY STAR® brand, which are now being marketed under exclusive agreements through the Dept of Energy. Except, that those EPA products are being marketed by other non-profit groups like the SEL Climate Corps, which is a partner of the Americorps group, which is one more Public/Private Partnership pushing green-washing schemes under the guise of public services. All of these taxpayer-funded organizations claim to support DEI policies, as they erect barriers to all critics of their twisted New World Order.
These groups may have set up its own Global Ambassadors division, but it wasn’t to curry favors with the average citizen in any nation. The goal was to push the newest version of the UN agenda, that was explained in “Forging a Shared Path to a Net-Zero Future: U.S. China Climate Action Opportunities Paper Series” to accelerate climate action, released in March of 2023.
That new ‘Climate Action Opportunities Papers Series’ is sure to produce more insightful articles on the topic of property rights, and who government lawyers think will be standing up to the real Eco-Terrorist in the future. American voters should be paying very close attention to these issues, because the highly-paid media is not going to provide any balanced reporting on energy-related issues going in to the 2024 Presidential election cycle.
